Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Famipride.

Last updated: September 18, 2026 · Effective: September 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Famipride ("we", "us") covering your use of the Famipride web app at famipride.com, the Famipride iPhone app, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who may use Famipride

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password and your recovery code private; anyone who has them can read your private memories. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

3. Families and invitations

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you write, record or upload. We do not claim ownership of your memories.

To operate the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, transmit, back up and display your content — only as needed to run Famipride for you and the family members you shared it with, and only for as long as your account or that content exists. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies that persist briefly in backups and logs as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for your content and you confirm that:

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Famipride to:

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. We may also report content to law enforcement where the law requires it.

6. Not a medical, legal or emergency service

Famipride is a journaling and family communication tool. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, counselling, legal advice, or a crisis or emergency service. The Pause feature and any suggested wording are self-help tools, not treatment.

If you or someone else is in danger, or you are having thoughts of harming yourself or another person, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately. Do not rely on this app in an emergency.

7. Our content

The Service itself — its software, design, text, brand name, logo, and the compilation of the Service — belongs to us and our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own family use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from the Service except as the law expressly permits.

8. Availability and changes

9. Fees

Famipride is currently free to use. If we introduce a paid plan, the price and terms will be shown clearly before you are charged, existing free features will not be taken away without notice, and any purchase made through the App Store is also subject to Apple Media Services terms and to Apple’s refund policy.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using Famipride at any time and delete your account from the Me tab. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export your content. Sections 4, 7, 11, 12 and 13 survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and without limiting anything else in these Terms, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content will be accurate, that reminders will be delivered on time or at all, or that data will never be lost. Delivery of notifications depends on your device, your settings and third-party push services that we do not control.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or emotional distress, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence where such exclusion is not permitted.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your statutory rights are unaffected.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, excluding its conflict of law rules. Before starting formal proceedings, please write to [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue directly. Disputes that cannot be resolved this way may be brought before the competent court at our place of business. Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in your local courts where consumer law gives you that right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Famipride after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.

15. Miscellaneous

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent; we may assign ours in connection with a merger or sale of assets.
